At a height of 690 feet (210 meters), The Independent, a 58-floor residential skyscraper in Austin, TX, was completed this spring at 301 West Avenue. The building has been nicknamed the Jenga Tower and the Tetris Building because of its unique shape. It is claimed to be the largest residential structure west of the Mississippi.

A group called “Fix the Crown” complained shortly before the building’s completion, claiming that the top of the building looked unfinished and was a “stunning disappointment to an otherwise well-executed skyscraper,” according to their petition, which encourages the architects to “correct their mistake” (https://www.change.org/p/the-independent-austin-fix-the-crown-on-the-independent-austin).
