The association’s annual event is about the sharing of information and ideas. The opportunities to learn from fellow building envelope professionals, be they consultant, contractor, manufacturer, or facility manager, are plentiful at the RCI International Convention and Trade Show.

President-Elect’s Golf Tournament
Friday, March 17 | Oak Creek Golf Club
Shuttle Ready: 6:30 AM | Shuttle Departs: 6:45 AM | Tee Off: 8:30 AM
Just 30 minutes from the host hotel, the Oak Creek Golf Club beckons the competitive spirit of golfers at all levels. Each of the 18 holes throughout this Orange County golf course presents new challenges amid tapered fairways, scenic greens, beautiful lakes, and bull-nose-carved bunkers. With dense and dynamic flora, Oak Creek creates a sanctuary — not only for your playing experience, but for a variety of birds and other fauna as well.
Golfers without a foursome will be assigned to one based on handicap or average score. Placements will be determined by the club pro’s system. Golfers will be provided with a list of team and tournament rules at the on-site registration desk.
Spouses are encouraged to participate — there will be pairings for couples at the tournament. The tournament offers prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Contests will include longest drive and closest to the pin. Be sure to stick around for many other contests and raffle prizes immediately following the tournament.
A breakfast buffet, lunch, snacks on and off the course, and beverages will be provided. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony.

This event celebrates the commencement of the Convention. New to RCI or the RCI Convention? No problem. Here’s your chance to get to know some long-time members and members of the RCI Board of Directors who will be glad to help you get comfortable and involved. RCI Affiliated Chapter representatives will also be present to help you learn which building envelope professionals from your home area may be in attendance.
Grand Opening Celebration and Keynote Speaker – Bill Walton, Basketball Legend

William Theodore Walton, III (Bill) was born on November 5th, 1952, in San Diego, California. He was introduced to the game of basketball while in the fourth grade at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School by coach Frank “Rocky” Graciano.
Walton is a three-time recipient of the NCAA Player of the Year Award, 1972, ’73 and ’74. Walton is a three time All-American College Player and winner of the Sullivan Award for the United States’ Best Amateur Athlete of 1973. He was named to the Pacific 8 All-Conference first team three times and was conference player of the year for three consecutive years. At UCLA Walton was a scholar athlete who also earned academic All-American honors three years in a row. He graduated with honors with a B.A. in history. Walton also attended Stanford University Graduate School of Law in the early 1980s.
Walton’s professional career began as the number one overall pick in the 1974 NBA draft by the Portland Trailblazers. He was a member of their championship team in 1977. Nine years later, he earned another championship title, this time with the Boston Celtics in 1986. He played with the Trailblazers from 1974-1979, the San Diego Clippers from 1979- 1984, the relocated Los Angeles Clippers in 1985, and The Boston Celtics, from 1985-1988.
Walton was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, 1978; all-NBA First Team, 1978; NBA All-Star Team, 1977 and 1978; NBA Playoff’s MVP, 1977; all-NBA second team, 1977; winner of the NBA Sixth Man Award, 1986. Walton is one of only four players in the history of basketball to have won multiple NCAA and multiple NBA championships. Walton is also the second of only five players in the history of the NBA to lead the league in both blocked shots and rebounding in the same season.
In 2009, Walton was named one of the top 50 sports broadcasters of all time by the American Sportscasters Association. In June 21, 2001, Walton was named as the inaugural inductee into the Grateful Dead Hall of Honor, and signed memorabilia is available. All proceeds go to benefit the Rex Foundation, the non-profit charitable organization founded by members of the Grateful Dead and friends.
Walton and his older brother Bruce (UCLA 1973) are the only brother combination in history to have played in the Super Bowl and to have won an NBA championship. Walton and his third son Luke are only the third father/son pairing to have ever won NBA championships. They are also the only father/son combination in history to have each won multiple NBA championships.

They are the proud parents of four sons: Adam, Nathan, Luke and Chris, and the lucky grandparents of Olivia and Avery Rose.

CEHs for Attending the RCI Trade Show.
Attendees will earn 2.0 CEHs for spending up to four hours on the trade show floor. Attendees who spend more than four hours at the trade show will receive 3.0 CEHs.
Be sure to visit the display of the RCI Document Competition entries and winners during both days of the trade show. Competition categories include small projects, large projects, and reports.

A celebration and finale of the convention. Here’s your chance to reminisce with fellow members over a sumptuous meal and lively entertainment – Liquid Blue. You can expect big sound, funky horns, and exciting choreography from Liquid Blue.
Annual Banquet Entertainment – Liquid Blue
Liquid Blue is a multi award-winning international recording/touring act and cover band. This talented ensemble has performed in more than 100 countries and hold a Guinness World Record for their song Earth Passport which has been sung in more languages than any other song ever from the Billboard charts. You can expect big sound, funky horns and exciting choreography at a Liquid Blue show.
With over 600 songs in their repertoire, the band has put together over 70 medley arrangements. Each medley is a mini-tribute to a particular group or era. Their Led Zeppelin Medley features Trampled Under Foot, Dancing Days, Houses of the Holy, Rock and Roll and ends with the heavy section of Stairway To Heaven. The band’s ABBA Medley: Dancing Queen, Fernando, SOS and Waterloo.
Music To Move You
Honored as America’s Best Dance Band by the National Music Awards. Music To Move You is the band’s official slogan. You’ll be sure to be pumped up and excited from the first number until the finale.
Liquid Blue is fronted by former Elektra Records recording artist, Nikki Green and the multi-talented BlueGirls trio.
In 2010, Green became the first American ever to qualify for the finals in Chinese Idol. Most of the BlueGirls play keyboards, guitar, or both. A Liquid Blue show is a treat for both the eyes and ears. The Blue Girls have over 100 separate dance routines.
Between the variety of music, stage choreography, and visual effects, you’ll be mesmerized throughout Liquid Blue’s show.
